The Brief History of Sex, Blackmail and GOP
By Red Bottoms
Hi, Red Bottoms here, and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a late lunch with August Night. Let me share some tales that she regaled me with about the nexus of sex, business, politics and blackmail. Ms. Night provides some real eye opening revelations, and I’m sure that they will both inform and entertain you.
About RIA today
Ria a mysterious non-profit sex worker advocacy organization has a decriminalization bill for sex work under now being considered by the government. One of the many many problems with this bill is that men would still be penalized. This newsletter discussed the history of how corporations and the GOP have a long history of using sex and blackmail for politicians. We will come up with a myriad of examples. The oligarchy has been using sex and blackmail for decades and decades. It didn't just happen with Epstein. Sex and blackmail has been used to ruin careers of politicians or political activists that weren't down with the administration.
We now offer some examples of sex being used to blackmail “inconvenient” politicians for your enjoyment and elucidation.
GM’s Attempt to Blackmail Ralph Nader 1966
Back in the 1960s, Nader’s published his seminal book concerning GM’s disastrous Chevy Corvair, appropriately titled “Unsafe at Any Speed”. Not willing to take the disclosures revealed in the book lying down, GM had a plan. GM’s scam was to hire a shady group of private investigators to turn up dirt on Nader, even hiring prostitutes with the hope of filming Ralphie Boy in en flagrant délit, thereby discrediting him.
Our boy didn’t fall for it and the effort failed, and in 1970, GM was forced to pay Nader a $475,000 settlement for his trouble. The end result was that the Corvair was discontinued, saving countless American lives from further fatal car crashes that this deeply flawed vehicle would otherwise have caused.
Thanks Ralph!
The Woman who Blew the President - Is a Blowjob Sex? 1995/1997
To this day, a “Lewinsky” is synonymous with a blowjob, and here’s why.
After Monika Lewinski blew President Bill Clinton under his desk in the oval office, she made the mistake of bragging about it to her friend Linda Tripp, who under the advice of her literary agent, began recording subsequent conversations. The tapes ended up in the possession of prosecutor Kenneth Starr.
Vicki Morgan- No, it’s not all fun and games 1983
Sex worker Vicki Morgan hit the jackpot, hooking up with business magnate Alfred Bloomingdale. Around the time of Alfred’s death in 1983, Morgan sued for palimony. Blomindale’s wife shrugged her off, so Morgan made the fateful decision to write a tell-all.
She was found dead soon thereafter.
Might have had something to do with tapes showing Ronnie Reagan and his buddies have orgies with sex workers. The tapes documenting the fun were destroyed in a breakin, but a lawyer involved testified to their existence.
Larry Flint of Hustler Magazine fame wanted to buy those tapes – what fun that would have been!
The Adventures of Larry Flynt 1983ish
In the '70s Larry Flynt, a major porn magazine publisher, had a magazine called Rebel, dedicated to exposing government corruption. Holding the government accountable for corruption should be a national pastime, but nowadays if you want to expose the government corruption you're considered a conspiracy theorist.
Back in the 70’s and 80’s, one of the GOP ‘s main talking points was its advocacy of “family values” and monogamy. In spite of this claim, it was hard to keep track of how many of them were exposed for having sex with sex workers. So much for “family values” and monogamy, as well as for obeying the laws that they themselves passed!
The hypocrisy was so outstanding that Larry Flynt publicly offered a reward to any girl who slept with a politician.
The Saga of Jerry Springer 1974
Though it’s not well known today, Jerry Springer was once the mayor of Cincinnati. During his tenure, he seemed to all like a young John F Kennedy, moral and upright, and beloved by his public. He made the mistake of paying a sex worker with a check, and when the press got wind of this his name was dragged through the mud and he lost his whole career in politics.
With his career ruined, Springer decided that when life gives you lemons, you can always make lemonade. And so, going with his newfound notoriety, he embraced a new career as a talk show host and became even more famous as the king of trash TV. He made the best of it, and he is still dearly loved. But the public surely missed out on what could have been a brilliant career in public life.
Paul F. Toner – More sex and blackmail today
CPD Lieutenant Jarred Cabral presented evidence from a December 2023 police report, detailing text exchanges between Toner and the brothel ringleaders that arranged the time and payment for multiple visits in 2023. More public disgrace for this politician, but does he deserve it? Was it a set-up? The game of politics is long and dirty.

City Council Votes to Resist Trump’s Demands for Harvard: The Cambridge City Council voted unanimously for a resolution that calls on the Harvard Corporation “to stand up in defense of the values that are fundamental to both the University and our democracy.” Co-sponsored by nine councilors, the resolution came in response to a letter from the Trump administration that listed demands for the University, including eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion programming and further restricting protests.
Harvard To Issue $750 Million in Bonds: Following the Trump administration’s announcement of a $9 billion review of Harvard’s federal funding, the University will issue $750 million in taxable bonds this April. Raising the University’s total offering to $1.2 billion this fiscal year, the bond sale is “part of ongoing contingency planning for a range of financial circumstances,” according to University spokesperson Jason A. Newton.
